Our Mission
McCurtain County Government Transparency is a non-partisan, independent news organization dedicated to increasing government transparency in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. We believe that an informed citizenry is the foundation of a healthy democracy. Our mission is to provide the public with direct access to local governmental proceedings, ensure the availability of public records, and hold our elected officials and public agencies accountable through rigorous, fact-based reporting.
What We Do
We provide the citizens of McCurtain County with essential tools to monitor local government, including:

Meeting Documentation: Livestreaming local government meetings, and providing access to agendas, minutes, and public records.

Investigative Reporting: Providing in-depth commentary, analysis, and original reporting on local issues that are often under-covered by traditional media.

Government Oversight: Questioning governmental operations to ensure that public funds and resources are managed in the interest of the community.
We cover County, City/Town, School Board, and Volunteer Agencies that receive public funding.
